Contraception and abortion adverts on TV? Your chance to give your views!

Tue, 7 April, 2009

It would appear that sexual health and abortion services may soon be advertised on TV and radio, with ads potentially targeted at children as young as eleven years old.

The Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) and the Broadcast Committee on Advertising Practice (BCAP) have announced a review of their guidelines, partly in response to a suggestion by the "Independent" (that is, made up of like-thinking elites who agree with the government's inept policies) Advisory Group on Sexual Health. They are inviting public contributions to a consultation, so if you want to have your say, you have until June 19.

Check back here soon for advice and resources for your response.

This excellent BBC article is unusually insightful and thought-provoking, and refuses to recycle the same old cliches about teenage sexual behaviour.
