Bernadette
came to her local LIFE House desperate for help. Fleeing domestic violence,
pregnant with her third child, and with nowhere else to turn, she didn’t think
it would be possible to over-come longstanding issues and repair her
relationship with her family.
Her Support Plan worked on building confidence
and self-esteem and together with her Support Worker, Bernadette developed a
valuable network of friends and family to ensure she was happy and safe when she
was ready to leave our care.

Get Involved
There are plenty of ways you can get involved in helping LIFE.
Here are five things you can do now:
- Become a volunteer
- Give a financial gift to LIFE
- Join thousands of other official LIFE Supporters!
- Visit easyfundraising.org.uk when you're shopping online. Sign in, click on the retailer you want to shop with and they will make a donation to the charity you choose
- Visit eBay.co.uk to sell your unwanted items for charity
You could also:
- Take your unwanted baby clothes or equipment to your nearest Care Centre
- Join your nearest local LIFE Group - or set one up if you don't have one!
- Organise a fundraising event
- Donate any clothes, toys, books or DVDs to your nearest LIFE Charity Shop
- Hold a LIFE Sunday at your local church
- Ask your school or place of work if they would be interested in supporting LIFE
- Leave a gift to LIFE in your will
LIFE Groups
We have 75 LIFE groups around the country and a network of around 500 volunteers who attend regular meetings of their local group.
The group meets to discuss how its members can support the activities of LIFE projects in their area, talk about forthcoming 
events that are taking place or to share information about other local issues.
Fundraising events range from dinner-dances to sponsored walks and everything in between. Some volunteers have been part of their local group for up to 40 years and have formed life-long friendships with other like-minded people.
Others have passed on their involvement with LIFE through the generations, with children, or even grandchildren now participating and organising their own events to raise money for LIFE.
