Care Centres
Imagine the fear and worry that might go through your mind if you discovered you or your partner was unexpectedly pregnant. Now imagine having no-one you felt you could share those thoughts with.
For hundreds of men and women each year, that situation is reality, and trained volunteers at LIFE Care Centres are there to offer free, confidential counselling and emotional support on all matters concerning pregnancy.
Our service can be accessed by anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy who wants to talk through their options for the future. We also support those who are struggling with a whole range of pregnancy-related issues, those who have lost their baby.
LIFE is also there to support women and any other family member who has been affected by abortion.
Working across a network of over 30 Care Centres, volunteer counsellors and skilled listeners support clients in a non-judgmental, non-directive way when there is no-one else to turn to.
LIFE is an organisational member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and adheres to its Code of Ethics.
Our Care Centres help in a practical way too, providing free baby clothes and equipment such as prams or cots to families who might not otherwise be able to afford them.
Our Sheffield Centre is now part of the Counselling Directory

In 2010, the Helpline received nearly 800 calls from people affected by a pregnancy or loss of a baby.
